Surrey Oak Barns Roofing

Roofing

Our team of skilled roofers are experienced in all aspects of roof construction.

We offer a variety of roof finishes in new or reclaimed tiles, slate or cedar shingles. All our roof coverings are carefully selected to match any existing or adjacent properties. On completion of the roof we will install the guttering and down pipes.

The selection of the roof covering is one of the most important decisions to be made as the finish needs to blend with the surrounding buildings but at the same time look harmonious with the oak barn. We invest a considerable amount of energy in providing samples and advice to our clients to ensure this important decision is easily made.

The roof pitch has some importance when it comes to the selection of roof finishes as typically a plain tiled roof should have a minimum of a 35 degree pitch. Interlocking clay tiles or slate can be used on roofs with pitches greater than 20 degrees.

As our oak barns are all bespoke we can offer varying roof pitches, dormer windows, roof lights, and roof profiles such as half or barn hips, full hips and gable ends.

Many of our barns are designed as hobby rooms, offices, bedrooms, annexes and houses and the accommodation is either located on the ground floor with a vaulted ceiling or in an upper floor. The use of breather membranes and the selection of insulation therefore needs to be considered at the outset.

Feature English oak trusses can also be incorporated that further enhance the internal roof design.

The techniques employed to construct our roof finishes are no different to roofing a brick built building or extension and our roofing teams services are available to any clients wishing to undertake a new or re-roofing project.
